Setting Up Student Accounts (Sub Accounts)

( words) minutes to read

This quick guide is perfect if you’re wondering:

  • What is a sub-account?
  • Where do I add student accounts?
  • How do I set up the escape rooms for my students?
  • Can I use the escape rooms in groups or stations?

Sub-Accounts

If you’ve registered your student sub-accounts and allowed for the population time, you will be able to see a new link option on your Account page > Subscriptions tab. This link option is called “Sub Accounts” and will look like this:

Adding Student Subaccounts

When you click the “Sub Accounts” link (see image above), you will be prompting to enter individual account information (i.e. Name, Email). You can do this manually, or you can share a link for your students to sign up.

Recommendation: We recommend sharing the link to you class, and the work will done for you. After students sign up, you review the sub-accounts to see if the names are correct.

Creating Subaccounts

Add Sub Account (button) – Clicking this button will reveal a form with the following details:

Username: (Required) Used to enter the username that will be associated with the sub-account. Please note that usernames cannot be changed once submitted, so it’s important that this is entered correctly.

TIP: You can use students’ names here, or you can use generic numberings such as “Student001” and “Student002” or “Group01” and “Group02”.

Email: (Required) Enter the email to be associated with the sub-account. The new members welcome email will be sent to this email if that option is enabled below. Again you can use student emails or generic emails (recommended if privacy is an issue) that you create via Gmail or other services.

First Name: (Optional) Used to enter the first name of the user as needed.

Last Name: (Optional) Used to enter the last name of the user as needed.

Sharing a Signup Link

Signup URL – This is a simple URL that the can copy and send to anyone you’d like to subscribe under your class. Use the clipboard icon to easily copy it.

The signup URL link is for student sub-accounts and does not imply sharing licensing for multiple classrooms. Please see the licensing agreement for terms of service.
